Dr. Reed was born and raised in the Boston area. He attended Dartmouth College, where he majored in engineering sciences and completed a master of science in biochemical engineering. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH where he was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.  Dr. Reed completed his Internal Medicine internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA and his ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute.  He went on to achieve his fellowship in Vitreoretinal surgery at the prestigious Wills Eye Institute.

Dr. Reed is a Board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Reed has authored numerous research articles and presented his work nationally.

He specializes in the treatment of medical, laser and surgical retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular occlusions, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, retinal detachments, and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.

Dr. Reed’s goal is to skillfully and compassionately offer his patients the most advanced treatments available, including anti-VEGF treatments, laser and small incision surgery.

Dr. Reed lives on the South Shore where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and children.
